With multiple years experience in Technology and Strategy-based roles, Atiba Phillips has built a reputation for delivering business solutions to a wide range of organizations in various sectors including Financial Services, Energy, Government and Not-for-Profit entities.
Mr. Philips is the Founder, Chairman and Principal Consultant at INFOCOMM Technologies (ICT) Limited. In this role he has been the Senior Consultant with Regional entities on projects such as the “Connect the Caribbean” initiative with CANTO (Caribbean Association of National Telecommunication Organisations) and the e-Commerce Expert on the Caribbean Export Developments Bank (CEDB) / EU sponsored Regional e-Commerce Policy initiative.
Previously Mr. Phillips was the Executive Manager e-Commerce for the Trinidad and Tobago Government from 2005 – 2008 attached to the Ministry of Public Administration and before that (1999-2002) the Manager, Information Systems Specialists within the Office of the Prime Minister.
Through these positions he assumed lead roles in multiple national technology projects including the National Y2K project and the redesign of the National Social Welfare System. He served as Chairman of the committee to develop fastforward II – the National ICT Strategy 2009-2013 – authoring much of that document himself. He also pioneered initiatives such as the e-Business Roundtable, the First National ICT Business and Innovation Symposium in 2008, the Trinidad and Tobago e-Business Policy and was also a key contributor to the Cabinet approved National Strategic Broadband and Hosting Plan (2007), a pillar of the revolutionisation of the Telecommunications sector in Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr. Phillips holds experience as well within the energy industry having consulted with British Petroleum on the IT side of their global human resource function and as an Associate Consultant with the Management and Strategy Consulting firm MCT and Associates, specializing in sustainable development frameworks with special reference to the Energy Sector. He was also a Director and one of the founding members of an innovative technology-based non-profit start-up in California called BAYCAT, the model of which has since been replicated in three US cities to-date.
Mr. Phillips has also lectured at the Masters level in Strategic IT in e-Business and e-Marketing through the University ofGreenwich, England and is also currently the Chairman of the National Information and Communication Technology Company Limited (iGovTT).
