iGovTT Board Receives Appointment Letters from Minister of Public Administration
Port-of-Spain, Trinidad – 14 Jan, 2011: The new board of directors of the National Information and Communication Technology Company Limited (iGovTT) was presented with its instruments of appointment by the Minister of Public Administration, Senator the Honourable Rudrawatee Nan Gosine Ramgoolam, earlier today.
Atiba Phillips, a career IT specialist, is the Chairman of the Board. Other members of the 12 member board are: Alvin Ramsaran, Rachel Maikhoo, Gregory Fernandez, Nigel Ramlagan, Christopher De Silva, Baldath Mahabir, Jacqueline Syms, Warren Sookdar, Annessa Ali Bocas, Heidi John and Rayard Mansano.
Minister Ramgoolam took the time to thank the former Board for their contribution and advised the new board of their roles and responsibilities to iGovTT, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago and by extension to the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
During her presentation of instruments of appointment, Minister Ramgoolam emphasized: “Given that Pillar Four of the Framework for Sustainable Development speaks directly to ICT and its relevance and critical nature for connecting Trinidad and Tobago and Building the New Economy, we expect that this new Board and company will lead the way in ensuring that our nation is at the forefront of adapting ICT developments into our everyday lives.”
The Chief Executive Officer of iGovTT, Cleveland Thomas, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Mrs. Arlene McComie, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of iGovTT, John Mollenthiel were also present at the ceremony.
