The National Training Agency (NTA), in collaboration with iGovTT, successfully coordinated and hosted a two-day Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Study Tour in Trinidad and Tobago for an international delegation under the auspices of the Commonwealth of Learning (COL). The initiative reinforced the country’s growing reputation as a regional leader in digital transformation, digital governance, and public sector innovation.
Representatives from Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Namibia participated in the high-level programme, which provided an in-depth look at Trinidad and Tobago’s digital transformation journey and the implementation of innovative digital public infrastructure solutions that are modernising public services and strengthening trust in digital ecosystems.
The study tour commenced on a high note at iGovTT Headquarters, where delegates were officially welcomed before receiving a comprehensive overview of Trinidad and Tobago’s Digital Public Infrastructure Strategy. The opening sessions featured an in-depth demonstration of VerifyTT, the country’s national digital identity verification platform, showcasing its architecture, governance framework, security features, interoperability and practical application across government, education and workforce development.
The engagement highlighted how VerifyTT is enabling the secure issuance, storage and verification of digital credentials while reducing fraud, improving efficiency and simplifying verification processes for citizens, employers, educational institutions and government agencies. Also featured was a presentation on the LearnTT platform by Dr. Andrea Kanneh, Manager Digital Skills, Digital Performance Engagement Unit of the Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence.
