VerifyTT Powers Trusted Digital Interactions Across Tertiary Education, Employment, and Government in Trinidad and Tobago
Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and innovation in public service delivery continues with the official launch of VerifyTT, a national digital credential verification platform developed through the National Information and Communication Technology Company Limited (iGovTT), a state agency under the Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence.
More than a credential verification platform, VerifyTT represents an important part of Trinidad and Tobago’s emerging Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) — the trusted digital systems that enable secure, seamless, and reliable interactions between citizens, institutions, businesses, and government.
Just as the internet allows people to communicate and exchange information instantly across the globe, Digital Public Infrastructure provides the trusted framework that makes those digital interactions secure, verifiable, and reliable.
VerifyTT forms part of Trinidad and Tobago’s national digital trust infrastructure, enabling trusted digital interactions between individuals, businesses, institutions, and government through the secure exchange and verification of trusted digital information.
Its first sectoral implementation focuses on tertiary education, providing citizens with a secure and reliable way to access, manage, store, and share verified academic and professional credentials while enabling authorised organisations to verify them instantly. As the platform expands to additional sectors, it will strengthen confidence in the authenticity of verified information and support more secure, efficient, and trusted digital services across the country.
In today’s highly competitive labour market, where credibility, speed, and trust are increasingly important, VerifyTT eliminates many of the delays and uncertainties associated with manual verification processes. By enabling real-time verification of credentials, the platform strengthens confidence between job seekers and employers while supporting a more transparent, efficient, and digitally enabled recruitment environment.
The platform has been designed with simplicity, accessibility, and security at its core, ensuring that citizens can safely manage their credentials within a trusted digital framework that protects against fraud and misrepresentation.
VerifyTT also reflects the Government’s broader vision for building Digital Public Infrastructure that supports national development, workforce competitiveness, and economic growth. By creating trusted digital systems that people and institutions can rely on, Trinidad and Tobago is laying the foundation for more connected public services, greater efficiency, and stronger digital confidence across society.
Speaking at the launch of VerifyTT in April 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad, Chairman of iGovTT, Ms. Ria Karim remarked:

As Trinidad and Tobago continues its digital transformation journey, VerifyTT stands as a practical example of how government-led innovation through agencies such as iGovTT is helping to build the trusted digital foundations necessary for a more modern, secure, and inclusive digital society.
VerifyTT is now live and available nationwide, marking another major milestone in the country’s evolving digital ecosystem and its broader Digital Public Infrastructure agenda.
